$10,000 Cash for Christmas Announcement Night - What you need to know

Hokonui Brought it Home for Christmas, with your chance to win $10,000 cash!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2019 WINNER SUE FALCONER FROM WEST OTAGO. See footage from the night here.

  • Road closed between Main St and Regional Ford Yard from 3:30pm.
  • Festivities kick off 5:30pm.
  • The RTL Soundstage will be down the west-end, featuring a taste of the Top Paddock Music Festival - performers Gold Guitar winners Arun O'Connor and Jaydin Shingleton.
  • FREE kids entertainment in bouncy castles.
  • Great selection of fundraising food stalls. Please bring cash as no EFTPOS is available.
  • Bring a chair if you want and turn up early to lock in a good spot!
  • Please come prepared for inclement weather. As much as we would love for fine weather, we all know what Southland is like... The street is very exposed with little cover from the rain. Umbrella's can be a hazard in large crowds so please don't be offended if we ask you to refrain from using one. Best to come with a waterproof coat or poncho.
  • The big announcement will be made around 7:00pm. We can't stress enough the fact you have to be there to win. Note: This means the person who filled out the form. So for instance, if your wife/husband's name is called, and they are not there, you can't claim on their behalf. If not, it will go to someone else (and we don't want that).
  • Come armed with your bank account details and form of ID. If anything, as a good luck charm. You will need it if you win!
  • The event will wrap up at the conclusion of the grand announcement.
  • Be sure to wave for our roaming cameras, photos to be published on the Hokonui Southland Facebook page.
  • Road re-opens 8:00pm.

PARKING

Due to the high number of people expected for this event, we suggest you car pool where you can. Parking options can be found in the public space around Gore TV and Radio, and also along Fairfield St and Ardwick St. Please refrain from the Smiths City and New World carparks, as these are reserved for their patrons. Our marshals will be monitoring this.
