Roadworks across the South - NZTA advisories

Maintenance and renewal work on state highways continues this month, and this week you can expect delays and disruptions at the following locations...

Scheduled Highways South & South Roads works in the coming week (weather dependent):

  • SH1 Invercargill to Bluff, stop/go in place for pavement marking
  • SH1 at Woodlands, stop/go in place for sealing
  • SH1, Edendale-Woodlands Highway, temporary traffic lights in place for maintenance and renewal work
  • SH1 at Mataura, stop/go in place for pavement marking
  • SH1, Waipahi Highway, stop/go in place for sealing
  • SH1, Pukerau, stop/go in place for sealing
  • SH6, Winton urban areas, stop/go in place for pavement marking
  • SH6, Winton-Lorneville Highway, temporary traffic lights in place for maintenance and renewal work
  • SH6, Five Rivers-Lumsden Highway, temporary traffic lights in place for maintenance and renewal work

  • SH6, Athol-Five Rivers Highway, temporary traffic lights in place for maintenance and renewal work
  • SH96, Glencoe Highway, temporary traffic lights in place for maintenance and renewal work

The works are weather dependent so timing may alter based on this.  There is usually a temporary speed limit of 30 km/h at each site, please slow down (including when the sites are unattended) so all our crews can get home safe to their families each night, and so that repairs on the highways take hold.  Thanks, we appreciate your patience at these sites!

* Please note that there will be mobile mowing operations taking place on various state highways throughout Southland in the coming months, so please take extra care when you see these in the area.  Also, for those travelling through from Te Anau to Milford, there is likely to be sealing underway (weather dependent) in the coming week(s).
