Light up your winter at EA Networks Glow in the Park!

Three magical nights of dazzling lights, thrilling rides, and delicious food returns to Ashburton Domain King’s Birthday weekend (29 - 31 May). Be immersed in a spectacular display of colour and creativity as light installations transform the Domain into a nighttime experience for the whole family. This free family event is bigger and brighter than ever!

  • From 5pm - 9.30pm each night.
  • There's also a dedicated low-sensory session, offering a quieter experience on Sunday, from 3pm to 5pm. During this session, they’ll switch off the music and the noisiest amusement rides – and there will be less crowds.
  • It remains 100% free entry, thanks to EA Networks and a collection of generous sponsors.
  • However, St John will be accepting donations for their annual appeal, so feel free to donate towards the wonderful work they do for our community.

What to expect:

There’s a mix of new light displays and returning favourites. Some of the new installations include:

  • The dazzling dinos (large inflated glowing dinosaurs)
  • A touch of romance with our Neon-pink Heart Garden
  • The larger-than-life DJ Octopus (large inflatable octopus, with music, that you can stand inside for photos)
  • Chinese dragon arches
  • And cool photo opportunities around every corner

Alongside the lights – there are other free activities such as:

  • Free glow-in-the-dark tattoos with the Mid Canterbury Children’s Day Trust
  • Roaming stilt-walkers
  • Having a go with glow-in-the-dark poi(s)
  • Come catch a snap in the Hokonui JMW Events photo booth!
  • And more to be announced….

The food court will have over 20 food trucks – so something for all taste buds.

And the amusement area has something suitable for all members of the family. From a classic carousel for the little ones up to the Super Trooper for those looking for a thrill.
